'Dummy' screening Tuesday

Matt Beickert's "Dummy...a love story" is playing next Tuesday, July 22, 7 pm at Studio on the Square.

"Dummy" premiered at the Indie Memphis Film Festival in October and is back for one final Memphis showing. Recorded in Memphis, "Dummy" features Memphians Nathan Hiller as Francis, the nobody / weirdo / hero who spends most of his time fantasizing about Kim Carbine, played by former U of M Faculty Member Cynthia Runions. Kim, meanwhile, is trying to shake the advances of entrepreneur and jet setter CEO Buddy Longo (Tony Rizzoli). All the while, Tina (Shelly Stoltz) is chasing Francis while apartment manager Vargas (Jim Esposito) wants to get in on it all.

With music by Snowglobe, David 'Davey Guitar' Brookings and other Memphis musicians, "Dummy" is a fun and freaky adventure into the warped minds of the employees of VaporWare Inc.
