"Dollars and Signs" screenings (update)

“Dollars & Signs” is a low-budget independent film written and directed by Brandon Hutchinson, starring Phil Darius Wallace, Morgan Jon Fox, Timothy Morton and Lisa Sanchez. There are additional performances from Ekundayo Bandele, Brian Mott, Barbara Cook-Overton, Helen Bowman, Eileen Townsend, Genny Strain (the director's MeeMaw), and Joanna Isom (the producer's mail lady).

“Dollars & Signs” is a journey through Memphis music, old and new. Hip-hop producer and emcee Fathom 9 and the traditional Renaissance man Ron Franklin provided the bulk of the score. Harlan T. Bobo (currently touring in Europe), Vending Machine, The Iron Mic Coalition, The Tunnel Clones and Valerie June are also showcased.

“Dollars & Signs” is a story about three men who are discovering their own way. One happens to be a black gentleman. The other two happen to be white. One happens to own a small business. The other two happen to hate business. One happens to have a wife and three children. The other two happen to share an apartment with a computer and a fish. All three feel something brewing below the surface. All three live in Memphis, TN. What do you think happens?

“EAT” was written, directed & produced in Memphis by the mad crew over at Oddly Buoyant Productions-- the winners of Indie Memphis’ 2004 Best Hometowner Feature Award for “Automusik Can Do No Wrong”.
